Council Member of the Month: Cat Prestipino

Posted by Christian Manie On May 01, 2017

Each month the IAB profiles a Council Member working hard to proactively define the future of digital advertising. This month we profile Cat Prestipino from IAB’s Technology Council.

Name: Cat Prestipino

IAB Council: Technology Council

Involved in the IAB Council since: Inception – February 2015

Day job + company: JAPAC Marketing Director, AdRoll

I joined the Council because: Technology is such an exciting area of marketing although it can be daunting. In my day job, I love making ad tech simple and sharing it with other marketers and the Technology Council (with its emphasis on education) is really an extension of what I love about my day job.

Recent key projects the Council has accomplished: We recently complete the Marketers and Technology Survey and, stemming on from that, the Data Best Practices Handbook. The Marketers and Technology Survey told us marketers were still unsure about data – what it was, how to store it and how to use it. As most of the Technology Council members are deep in data everyday, we put together a best practice guide for marketers new to using data in their marketing campaign. The final section on What To Ask Your Vendors is particularly useful.

Upcoming projects the Council is currently working on: We’re about to update The Programmatic Handbook, which was last updated in 2015. The technology industry is always shifting so we thought it was time for an update.

What excites me about digital: The possibility. I love how digital changes and innovates all the time. I’ve always had a curious mind and with digital, I always have the opportunity to learn something new and push myself to develop.

If I wasn’t working in digital, I would be: An actress. That was the plan but I got distracted along the way…
