Sydney, Australia – October 17, 2012: Premium digital sales house AD2ONE has signed an agreement with WeTransfer, adding the free file transfer service’s high impact wallpaper advertising to its extensive Australian inventory.
Kate Tilden, AD2ONE’s commercial director, says that whilst there are other file transfer services, WeTransfer stands out for marketers, thanks to its full screen wallpaper displays: “When files are uploading, people can be staring at the screen for a long time. It’s the perfect time to display large advertising messages without the distraction of a lot of web content.”
WeTransfer currently receives 90,000 unique Australian users and 5.3 million page impressions each month. Globally it is growing quickly, with 10 million unique users each month. 30 percent of those are new visitors and it has 200,000 fans on Facebook. Usage is spread across a broad spectrum of ages, incomes and locations, as well as being split evenly on gender.
The site’s growth can be accounted for by the ease of use and the generosity of its offer – it is free and users can transfer files up to 2Gb in size.
For advertisers, the size of the wallpaper space is rare, particularly in such a clutter-free environment. It is likely to result in a higher click-thru-rate, as well as more branding opportunities that are difficult to match online.
The site offers sophisticated targeting opportunities (geo, browser, ISP) that can now be combined with AD2ONE’s own sophisticated planning capabilities, to deliver carefully targeted campaigns across this and other sites.
Nike, Vodafone, Universal Music, Samsung and Mercedes are just some of the high profile brands that have used WeTransfer as an advertising medium. AD2ONE expects many Australian businesses will now leverage the opportunity to build their brand online, with the help of exposure on WeTransfer.
