IAB appoints Richard Palmer as Audio Council co-chair

Industry expert to help drive more efficient and effective audio advertising

Sydney, 11 September 2018: The IAB Australia Audio Council has recently elected Richard Palmer, Director of APAC Market Development at Triton Digital as IAB AU Audio Council Co-Chair. The Audio Council is comprised of representatives from 12 organisations within the digital audio industry and strives to educate marketers and agencies on the value of online audio and podcasts as powerful and effective advertising mediums.

Richard has been a key member of the Council both through his current role with Triton Digital and previously as the Head of Digital for Macquarie Media. Richard was heavily involved in recent council projects such as the annual Digital Audio State of the Nation research, the Audio Creative Best Examples library, and the recent Podcasting Measurement Guidance and Local Market Update. As co-chair, Richard will help direct a number of projects for the remainder of the year, including the development of effective creative for different audio platforms as well content that will showcase audio advertising for the IAB’s annual MeasureUp conference.

Le Roy said the next round of work from the Council will be released within the next month, and she recommended that anyone in an industry that is involved in online audio advertising read the recent IAB U.S. Digital Audio’s Role in the Brand Safety Conversation: Protecting Marketers’ Investments white paper, which emphasises the importance of safe and transparent solutions in the digital audio space.”

Organisations represented on the IAB Australia Audio Council include ABC, ARN, Commercial Radio Australia, Eardrum, Macquarie Media, Nova, Omny Studio, Rubicon, Southern Cross Austereo, The Trade Desk, Triton Digital, and Whooskhaa.
