Online advertising expenditure in Australia for the 12 months ended 31 December 2007 totalled $1,346 million. This is an increase of $345 million (or 34.5%) from the 12 months ended 31 December 2006.
All expenditure types recorded strong growth. General Advertising accounted for 27%, Classifieds Advertising accounted for 27% and Search & Directories Advertising accounted for 46% based on expenditure for the 12 months.
The highest spending Advertiser Industry category in General Advertising was Finance. Recruitment was the leading category for Classifieds Advertising.
