Please give us some historical background to the company:
Reddit was actually born in 2005 by our founders Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian. Fast forward to today and Reddit is one of the world's most visited websites with +100k active communities. Locally, we just celebrated our 1st anniversary of being on ground in Australia.
Tell us a little bit about your company's mission and vision?
Reddit is a community of communities where people can dive into anything through experiences built around their interests, hobbies, and passions. Our mission is to bring community, belonging, and empowerment to everyone in the world. Reddit users submit, vote, and comment on content, stories, and discussions about the topics they care about the most. From pets to parenting, there’s a community for everybody on Reddit and with over 50 million daily active uniques, it is home to the most open and authentic conversations on the internet.
Do you have a particular 'hero product' that you are most proud of?
What I personally love about Reddit is our online community. Reddit is a place where people come to be their authentic selves. You can really explore any passion and after the last couple of years, I think more and more people have really found a home amongst the communities on Reddit.
What area of digital do you personally work in and how do you hope to enhance this within your business?
I work with the Reddit Ad Sales business. I love partnering with Advertisers to reach new audiences here in Australia. Exploring Reddit with our customers over the past 12 months has really been an incredible experience.
Please tell us what, as a child, you wanted to be 'when you grew up'?
A Spice Girl. Girl power in the 90s was the theme to my childhood, thanks to the Spice Girls. This is something I am passionate about championing today.
