Sydney, Australia – 19 April 2012 – Yahoo!7 today announced the launch of its new ‘3D brochure’ advertising format. Partnering with HTC as the launch client, Yahoo!7 developed the eye-catching new format to transform a traditional 2D display into a 3D information cube.

The new format allows advertisers to seamlessly transfer print material, such as catalogues for online audiences, to a 3D, rich media experience. Featured on Yahoo!7’s homepage, the 3D brochure has navigation wings on the left and right gutters so users can rotate the information cube to reveal content on each face.

Damon Scarr, Commercial Director at Yahoo!7 said: “Yahoo!7 is excited to add this innovative new format to the dynamic portfolio of products available to our advertisers. This is an industry-first for Australia and follows a number of very successful launches of the platform in other markets.”

“Yahoo!7 is proud to be leading the industry by developing creative ways for advertisers to engage with audiences,” said Damon.

The new format will allow advertisers to update fast-changing data points such as price or new promotions with greater ease. It also provides a solution for campaigns with multiple messages or products. These can be consolidated into the one online catalogue and differentiated by user location on multiple sides of the cube.

“The HTC One X is an extraordinary quad-core powered entertainment device that recently wowed the technology industry at Mobile World Congress 2012. The two key propositions for the phone are an amazing camera and the authentic sound,” said Priscilla Lee, Account Manager, PHD Network.

“Yahoo!7’s 3D ad format was a clear choice for the HTC One campaign. This is because the ad format not only facilitates an immersive consumer experience with the phone’s USPs, but also enables HTC to communicate their ‘Quietly Brilliant’ brand ethos in an innovative manner,” Priscilla added.

The HTC execution of the new 3D brochure format is now live, and can be viewed on the Yahoo!7 homepage: http://au.yahoo.com/
