Yahoo!7 to power the new flybuys Toolbar. Yahoo!7

Sydney, Australia, December 5, 2012 – Yahoo!7 today announced a new toolbar product in conjunction with flybuys which will see flybuys members earning flybuys points when they search the web with Yahoo!7.

The flybuys toolbar, which is free to download, is powered by Yahoo!7 and sits under a regular web browser. Each time a flybuys member uses the toolbar to conduct searches they earn flybuys points (one flybuys point per two searches. Maximum of 100 flybuys points per month, per user).

For flybuy members the program provides a simple way to earn more points when they search the internet. For Yahoo!7 it provides a new audience of Australians actively using the Yahoo!7 search product. This in turn creates an increased volume of premium advertising opportunities for Australian search advertisers.

The flybuys toolbar, which is a first loyalty toolbar launch for Australia, mirrors similar successful Yahoo! toolbars in the UK. It will be rolled out to flybuy members over the coming weeks.

According to Damon Scarr, Commercial Director, Yahoo!7 “We’re pleased to work with the flybuys team to bring this new search approach to Australia for the first time. Our approach to the search market is to look at innovative ways to deliver a great search experience for both consumers and our advertising partners.”

According to Roger Sniezek, General Manager flybuys “I’m excited to be partnering with Yahoo!7, as this is another great way that flybuys members can earn points.”
