Entries Open for MeasureUP Awards 2021

Celebrating the best of digital, cross media, consumer and cultural trade research from media owners & technology partners

In a challenging year we think our industry needs a reason to celebrate great media research. IAB Australia is inviting media owners, platforms and technology companies to enter this year’s MeasureUP Research Awards, designed to showcase quality Australian media research.

Short listed entries will be showcased, and winners will be announced at a live awards ceremony on Thursday 28th October as part of MeasureUP 2021.

Submissions are being accepted for research and case studies on:

  • Digital media or cross media / advertising research
  • Digital media or cross media ad effectiveness case study with accompanying research
  • Cultural / societal research
  • Consumer category or audience behaviour research

There is no cost to enter and you may submit multiple studies. The submission process is rigorous but not onerous!  Entries close 5pm Friday 1st October 2021. Enter here.

Submissions will be judged by senior media agency representatives from the MFA Interactive Committee who will be looking for projects with clear, straightforward results translated into messages and action tips for the digital industry, marketers, and advertiser. 

Projects can be of any budget – large or small – and must have been conducted by media owners, publishers, platforms, ad tech and martech organisations in the Australian market for the purpose of informing marketers, advertisers and/or advertising agencies. The research or case studies must have been first presented in the market from September 2020.  

Short-listed and winning entries will be showcased at our live awards ceremony, featured on the IAB Australia site, shared with the global IAB network, announced in trade media publications and receive an award for the trophy shelf.

Note this is not open to trade bodies, ad agencies or research agencies, though they may be partners in research entered by eligible organisations.

 What are the rules?

We welcome projects that have been conducted on any budget, large or small, by media owners, publishers, platforms, ad tech and martech organisations in the Australian market for the purpose of informing marketers, advertisers and/or advertising agencies. The trade research projects may have been carried out exclusively by the entering organisation, in partnership with another organisation (e.g. research agency) or commissioned by the entering organisation. The research or case studies must have been first presented in the market from September 2020.  

The jury will be looking out for projects with clear, straightforward results translated into messages and action tips for the digital industry, marketers and advertiser that demonstrate:

  • Clear objectives
  • Robust methodology 
  • Insightful results 
  • Efficiency and impact – how insights have been applied to influence marketing, advertising or business practice 
  • Innovative subject matter – exploring new topics 
  • Significance – how the results have an effect on the digital advertising business 
  • Full explanation – no supposition should be needed from the judges 

 Timing?

Entries close 5pm Friday 1st October 2021. Judging will take place week commencing 4th October 2021. Winning entries will be presented at a virtual event held on Thursday 28th October 2021 as part of MeasureUP.

 Confidentiality

Judging will be conducted confidentially. Judges will be specifically matched with entries that do not pose a conflict of interest. Information in the entry form (results and all other material) will remain confidential until the IAB has your specific permission to publish and promote.
