IAB Australia Board Elects New Chairman

Sydney, 23rd July 2012: Mark Britt, Group CEO of Mi9, has been appointed as the interim Chairman for IAB Australia. Unanimously voted to the role by the IAB Australia Board, Mr Britt will work closely with CEO Paul Fisher to promote the continued growth and success of the interactive advertising industry in Australia.He will stay in the role until a long term successor is selected.

In announcing the appointment, the IAB Australia Board also recognised and thanked exiting Chairman Tony Prentice for his leadership of the Board.

Mr Britt will be the principal contact and reference for Paul Fisher between monthly Board meetings, will oversee the roll out of IAB Australia’s upcoming strategies; and Chair all IAB Australia Board meetings in accordance with industry best practice and current corporate governance legislation. His appointment is effective immediately.

Mr Britt commented: “It’s an honour to be chosen by the IAB Board and I look forward to working closely with the Board and Paul Fisher to articulate our priorities over the coming months, and to ensure our work supports Australia’s interactive advertising industry.”

Paul Fisher, IAB CEO commented: “During Tony’s tenure as Chairman of the IAB Board of Directors, the IAB has delivered significant milestone projects including the accreditation of the online audience measurement system, introduction of honorary membership for marketers; and the appointment of IAB Australia’s first director of Regulatory Affairs. Tony has been a key driver in these activities and his support for the IAB and me as CEO has been fabulous. On behalf of the members and staff of IAB Australia, I wish Tony well and thank him for his contribution to the IAB.”
