14 September, 2007: The cross industry committee responsible for the recently issued online audience measurement Industry Blueprint has confirmed that vendors will receive Accreditation for their best practice online measurement methodologies.

“The committee has agreed that Accreditation will be awarded to vendors that are identified as providing best practice methodology for specific elements of the Industry Blueprint,” said Dr Stuart Pike, Chair of the Industry Blueprint Committee.

“This accreditation will be offered only where it is clear that the proposed methodology is absolutely Best Practice, and not necessarily where the methodology is simply the best available offering.

“We hope that by setting Accreditation standards users of audience measurement research will have a framework to determine whether the measurement tool they are using is recognised as an industry best practice or not,” said Dr Pike.

Vendors have until 23rd September 2007 to respond with details of what elements of the Industry Blueprint they will be able to address. Pricing details are not required as yet. The committee is scheduled to review any responses between 24th September and 19th October 2007. All information provided to the committee will remain the intellectual property of the applicant and commercial and methodological information will remain confidential.
