The fifth wave of the IAB Australia Mentorship Program has kicked off for 2022! The program looks to support up and coming talent within the digital advertising industry. 40 participants have been chosen and paired with Industry Leaders for the 6 month program to get to know each other and work through any specific goals set by the mentee. We reached out to our new wave of mentee’s and asked them a few questions before they started the program on what motivated them to sign up and what they hope to achieve through the program. What motivated you to sign up to the IAB Australia Mentorship Program?
I have always greatly valued having a mentor professionally, and in life. I also try to offer the knowledge I have to others, if it can help them succeed on their journey. The IAB is one of the cornerstones of advertising and having a mentor will help with navigating the industry and my professional path. Very grateful!

What motivated you to sign up to the IAB Australia Mentorship Program?
My manager - who is another person I would very much consider a mentor too - she gave me the motivation and confidence to do this as she knows how eager I am to continue to build on my knowledge and skills. I had my doubts as I wasn't sure if I would even be selected, but I knew I would regret it if I didn't give it a go...Thank god I did!
What do you hope to achieve through the IAB Australia Mentorship Program?
My main goals are: To build confidence around my own skills, gain a better understanding of the digital media landscape and get advice on best ways to keep up with its ever changing landscape and work on the dynamics/relationships between myself and people who are in a more senior position.

Being able to have a touchpoint with someone who's experience and knowledge in this industry spans far greater than my own. Also the ability to have frank and candid conversation who has likely been where I am and can help navigate the future of my career path.

Learn, learn and learn. Being able to acquire new skills and apply them to my day to day. Build a strong relationship with my mentor and hopefully one day be in their position where I can give back by mentoring someone.
