11th October 2010: Twenty-one measurement organizations have leapt at the chance to register their interest in participating in the Online Audience Measurement (OAM) Services tender issued by IAB Australia.
Companies from Australia, Canada, India, Israel, UK and US are amongst those who have registered. The registration period has now closed and tender documents will be sent out today. Vendors will have until Friday 17th December 2010 to submit their responses.
According to Paul Fisher, CEO of IAB Australia, the global response to the tender registration was very swift and demonstrates a keen global interest in Australia’s rapidly growing online market.
“To have such a strong and quick response from a veritable united nations of OAM suppliers vindicates our decision and timing to issue the tender process. We are delighted by the range of organisations that have registered their interest in the tender and look forward to receiving and reviewing their submissions later this year,” said Mr Fisher.
Fifteen of the vendor companies to register their interest in the tender are Australian companies or Australian offices for international brands, while the remaining six have offices located in Canada, Israel, India, UK or US.
IAB Australia announced earlier this month it is seeking to appoint a sole and exclusive preferred supplier for the provision of OAM services in Australia. A specially convened Technical Review Group chaired by media measurement expert and veteran of TV, outdoor and newspaper measurement tenders Ian Muir, will review all submissions against detailed and extensive technical and business requirements. This process is expected to take a number of months and an announcement will be made in the first half of 2011.
