Opening for a Design & Content Manager

IAB Australia is looking for an experienced junior- to mid-level design and content manager to produce materials that ensure our members and broader media & marketing community are up to date with IAB resources, events and news. The ideal candidate will have experience &/or strong interest in the media and advertising industry.

As part of a small but passionate team, the Design & Content Manager will work with the CEO and Marketing Manager and be responsible for IAB’s external image including website, social, research reports, videos, written pieces for members and trade press. The role requires someone with experience in design, video editing, website management and preferably strong writing & comms skills.

This role will give the right candidate the opportunity to be at the heart of the digital advertising industry and make a huge impact on our 150 member organisations as well as the perception and understanding of digital advertising in the broader market. The digital advertising community looks to the IAB to provide independent guidance, research, events and education – communicating in a clear, effective, inclusive and inspiring manner is at the core of the Design and Content Manager’s remit.

This role will initially be 2-3 days per week through to the end of September then moving to 4 or 5 days. The candidate needs to be based in or near Sydney.


The Design & Content Manager’s responsibility is produce content and design graphic materials that is engaging and useful for a variety of target trade audiences. This is in support of the IAB mission and strategy. The digital manager will report to the CEO and Marketing Manager as work closely with the rest of the team to create and distribute content to achieve desired goals.

The Organisation

IAB Australia is a registered not-for-profit organisation; membership fees and revenue generated are invested back into the IAB’s membership benefits such as resources, events, reporting, and industry representation. IAB Australia is the peak trade association for online advertising in Australia. As one of over 43 IAB offices globally and with a rapidly growing membership, the role of the IAB is to support sustainable and diverse investment in digital advertising across all platforms in Australia.

In the always-evolving and rapidly-changing digital advertising and technology ecosystem, the IAB is constantly moving forward and identifying how best the assist our members and the industry at large. The IAB Industry Charter, announced in October 2018, details the organisation’s focus on helping marketers and agencies involved in digital advertising by:

  • Demonstrating to marketers and agencies the many ways digital advertising can deliver on business objectives.
  • Ensuring the necessary standards and guidelines are in place to promote a trusted and transparent digital marketplace, reduce the friction within in the digital supply chain and to improve the online advertising experience for consumers, advertisers, and publishers.

Beyond the IAB’s continued focus on content and ad measurement, the Charter outlines four additional areas of activity: digital ad effectiveness, data and data privacy; standards and guidelines; and improving the digital value chain.

In addition to the IAB team, we leverage the skills, experience and commitment of over 120 member companies, many of whom actively work across our eight Councils – all comprising of subject matter experts – helping us address core pillars of simplified and standard online audience measurement, research, and online operational standards and guidelines, and policy.

The Role

  • Create effective graphic and video content for IAB Australia.
  • Manage the day-to-day content of the IAB Australia website (
  • Create content that promotes IAB events, research, including work done by IAB Australia Councils and work groups including finding new & effective ways of communicating what can be technical and complex content
  • Create content that conveys to both members and the digital industry the value of IAB Australia’s work.
  • Professionally represent the IAB at seminars and events
  • Be responsible for the creation of social media content (both graphic and written) and manage IAB Australia’s social media in line with IAB Australia’s social strategy to meet desired goals.
  • Support other functions with content, marketing and distribution support as required.
  • Keep up to date with general industry and member news via trade press, podcasts, events etc..




  •  Create & curate infographics and other graphic content for IAB Australia across all key functions.
  • Create & curate short-form videos to represent IAB work and events, including, but not limited to, interviews with IAB members and digital companies.
  • Design and edit publications/products from IAB Councils and Working Groups as required to a pre-agreed template.
  • Create content that promotes the value of IAB Australia to prospective members.
  • Curate IAB newsletter as directed on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with the production of web pages and other digital products as required.


  •  Support other IAB functions with content  – ie., research, technology, councils, events etc.
  • Have creative input and manage production for consistent delivery of content for key products, ie., playbooks, research, studies etc.
  • Update the IAB website on a daily basis based on future and current projects, as they occur and are planned, to ensure all information therein is current and up-to-date.


  • Brainstorm with senior staff and have input into the IAB’s social media strategy.
  • Create Content in line with IAB’s social media strategy.
  • Manage the daily updates to IAB social media platforms in an autonomous fashion and as directed by senior staff.


  •  Manage and post all content of the IAB Australia website, ensuring content on the site is up to date and relevant to members and the wider digital industry.

Internal Relationships

  • Takes instruction from the CEO and Marketing Manager
  • Coordinate with other IAB staff on the creation of Internal and external content for events, research, memberships and marketing as required.

External Relationships

  •  Close working relationship with the IAB Team.
  • Liaise with members and stakeholders in the production of above content, with the aim of promoting the IAB, its members and the industry.


  • 2 years’ experience in digital marketing/content/comms roles.
  • Website management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Video and audio editing (in Adobe suite)
  • Strong Graphic design skills.
  • Solid writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Social media management
  • Knowledge of Google analytics and experience creating reports to inform strategy.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to carry out duties autonomously, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • A passion for the media industry and an understanding of the Australian media landscape.
