On 19 March, the IAB held a ‘Town Hall’ meeting to discuss the key industry priorities around online audience measurement.
The Town Hall meeting was a chance for agencies, marketers and publishers to openly share their thoughts and concerns on the issues around online audience measurement, including the need for measurement which moves beyond the desktop to mobile, tablet and other smart devices. It was also a great opportunity to learn about the current status of the market and have a chance to input into plans and priorities for the future.
The event was chaired by Ian Muir, the independent chair for the Deed Renewal process. Other speakers included Mark Britt, Chairman of IAB and CEO of Mi9; Alice Manners, CEO, IAB; Gai Le Roy, Director of Research, IAB Australia as well are representatives from publishers, agencies & other industry bodies.
The meeting marks the first step on the 8 month review process of IAB Australia’s existing Online Audience Measurement deed which is currently held by Nielsen. Read more about the process here.
